INTERNET IS CBR'S LIFE SAVING TOOL

These newsletters are getting easier to write.  The encouraging news that comes across my desk on a daily basis is enough to fill these pages.  The tide on abortion is changing, especially with our young people.  CBR is always looking to harness new technologies to reach more of America’s youth.   One of the biggest tools available to change young minds is the internet.  Our abortionNo website is one the most effective resources we have in influencing youth on abortion.  An example of how the internet is changing the way young people communicate is MySpace.comMySpace.com allows teens to meet online and invite friends to join their personal network.  Recently, unbeknownst to CBR, a bulletin posted on abortionNo.org was linked to by a MySpace.com personal webpage.  The result was hundreds of hits on abortionNo.org and dozens of emails from young people describing their reactions to seeing abortion on abortionNo.

The following are a few responses from a posting of abortionNo.org on a MySpace.com personal webpage:

“After seeing the pictures of the unborn children I find it impossible to ever have an abortion.”  — 14 yr. old female from Columbia, TN

“I am 12 weeks pregnant but I couldn't do such.  I think it is too harsh for a person like me to do a thing like that.” — 15 yr. old female from Escondido, CA

“I’m 17 weeks pregnant and I cant see how anyone could do that to their baby.” — 19 yr. old female from Tampa, FL.

“My younger sister has had one (abortion).  I was going to have one but I definitely changed my mind.” — 15 yr. old female from Renton, WA

“I didn’t know how bad abortion was until I saw these pictures.” — 15 yr. old female

“I’m pregnant and my mom told me I couldn’t have it, but now I’ll tell her no.” —  14 yr. old female from Skokie, Ill

“At first I was thinking that if I had a child at an age that I don’t think I can support it, then I would have an abortion.  Now I think that I would keep it no matter the circumstance.” — 14 yr. old female from  Columbia, MD

“At first I was for abortion, but after seeing the pictures and the clips, I think it’s a horrible act.” — 14 yr. old female from Tracy, CA

Not all the emails to CBR were happy.   Many times we are too late.  Tragically, some young people find our information after they have had an abortion.

“I had an abortion in June of 05.  I would never think of doing it again because of the emotional pain that follows.  I wish that I had seen this site before.  I never would have done what I did.” —  23 yr. old female form Chesterfield, VA

Please help CBR reach these parents before they make the irreversible decision to kill their babies.  CBR educational resources are even helping young people reevaluate their sexual practices.   With your help we can do more to save babies and change minds over the internet, on college campuses, on the roads, and in the skies over America.  Please send what you can to fund the most effective pro life outreach to America’s future generations.

We will do our part if you do your part.  CBR will keep “rescuing those led away to death.”

Free Speech Victory at Capital University

On April 4-5, the Genocide Awareness Project (GAP) was displayed at Capital University in Columbus thanks to the strong leadership of Alex Tornero and the College Republicans.

What’s so special about Capital?  It is not the university’s size or uniqueness of the student body.  The notable feature about Capital University is that it is a PRIVATE university.  In the past 8 years, GAP has been displayed solely at public universities (with the exception of Seton Hall to which the administration refused to permit GAP a second day after a sit in was staged by students).  According to the US Supreme Court, public universities are considered the “quintessential marketplace of ideas” because they receive lots of tax dollars.  Historically, public funding has had a bearing on first amendment jurisprudence.  CBR has had difficulty displaying GAP on private universities because they receive little or no public funding.  The courts have given these universities more leeway involving free speech.  Alex and his group prevailed where others have failed in bringing GAP to a private university.  Our hope is that this is a sign of things to come.

After 8 years of visiting US college campuses we are now seeing irrefutable evidence in most polls that America’s youth is rejecting “choice.”  The Genocide Awareness Project (GAP), CBR’s “choice Trucks, and abortionNO.org  have had much to do with young people becoming more pro life.  As good as GAP, the “choice Trucks are in reaching the masses, nothing compares to the power of the internet in influencing the influential.
