CBR BEGINS SPRING CAMPUS TOUR

The Center for Bio Ethical Reform began its spring 2006 Genocide Awareness Project (GAP) this month with visits to the University of Central Florida (UCF) and the University of Florida (UF).

The Genocide Awareness Project (GAP) is a traveling photo-mural exhibit which compares the contemporary genocide of abortion to historically recognized forms of genocide. It visits university campuses around the country to show as many students as possible what abortion actually does to unborn children and get them to think about abortion in a broader historical context.

The Spring GAP Tour includes (as of 3-15-06):

  • University of Oklahoma
  • Oklahoma State University
  • University of Memphis
  • University of North Carolina at Ashville
  • University of  Tennessee at Knoxville

Here are few nuggets from the Florida GAP:

"These pictures give me nightmares.  It's obnoxious, it's upsetting, and it's so sickening.  It's an invasion of my mind." — Latrice Hankerson, UF junior, Women's Studies

“Pro-choice groups fail to realize that women's rights do not supplant the rights of children.  It is just as unethical to kill an unborn child as it is to treat women unfairly.” — Anthony Justice, UF student

“We will never know what great accomplishments the unborn children who were aborted might have achieved.”—Marshall Kornegay, UF student

“I think most people have grasped this fact. I think the activists groups don't understand that even pro-choicers like me don't want abortions to happen; they just don't think the government should interfere with a person's body.  Making abortion illegal won't lessen the problem. It would worsen it." —- Jessica White, UCF Psychology major

Planned Parenthood Chimes In On GAP

“The Genocide Awareness Project presented by the Center for Bioethical Reform and hosted by UF's Pro-Life Alliance is political propaganda in its simplest form: scare tactics,” said Sara Hanson is the president of Vox: Voices for Planned Parenthood.

“Anti-choice activists believe that they can frighten people into siding with them by simply shoving gruesome images in our faces and lumping abortion in with some of history's most tragic and violent episodes -- including the Rwandan genocide, the Holocaust and racially motivated lynching.  We would not engage the Genocide Awareness Project, because the nature of the display could lead to heated debate and violence” Hanson said.

CBR Note: How are pictures of “choice” “scary” unless abortion is “scary?”  How is showing abortion “frightening” unless abortion is frightening?  How does the display of a Constitutional right “lead to heated debate and violence” unless that right is wrong?  Pro-aborts attempt to change the subject when faced with the truth of their “choices.”  GAP forces pro aborts to attempt to defend the indefensible.  We are winning the debate on America’s Universities!

CBR Midwest’s Key States Initiative (KSI) to Launch Soon

During late Spring, Summer, and Fall of 2006, CBR Midwest will once again be on the road with our tremendously effective Key States Initiative (KSI).  This year we will target the key battlegrounds of Pennsylvania and Ohio because both states have important US Senate and Gubernatorial races.  CBR Midwest will seize the political debate created in order to raise awareness on abortion by deploying two separate fleets of abortion billboard trucks and airplanes simultaneously.  This combined land and air campaign with make voters unable to avoid or trivialize abortion.

The Key States Initiative Needs Your Help:

  • CBR Midwest needs to raise over $100,000 to pay for fuel, transportation, lodging, food, and communications for the 5– 6 month project.  Your gift of $1000, $500, $250, or $100 helps us reach our goal.
  • CBR Midwest needs dozens of van and car drivers to sacrifice weeks and/or months at a time in each state.  Introduce CBR Midwest to your friends, family, and church by calling 614-759-5195 to schedule a presentation.

Our need for financial support and volunteers increases as we become more effective in changing the debate on abortion.  Please sacrifice financially to support us.  We need you now!

CBR Midwest is looking for individuals to operate our anti-abortion billboard project (KSI) in Ohio and Pennsylvania during the 2006 elections.   If you are looking for a great opportunity to save babies along with make abortion a top issue in the upcoming elections contact us at 614-759-5195.  We cannot succeed in creating the debate without your help.
