CBR: Having an Impact on a Global Scale
2005 Strategic Conference attendees.
In February, CBR held its annual strategy meeting in Southern California.  In 2005, CBR will be establishing new operations in S. Dakota, Florida, New Mexico, Missouri, and Alabama.  We are also expanding to Scandinavia.  The gathering was a great time to rededicate ourselves to the work of God, and set a vision for 2005 and beyond.  With the expansion of our fleet of Reproductive “Choice” Campaign billboard trucks and airplanes, we are poised to alter the abortion debate even further in the months and years to come. 

The time together was capped off by a lesson on the effect of graphic pictures in the history of social reform.  Gregg Cunningham, Executive Director of CBR National, laid out the evidence and reconfirmed the belief that we are on the right track.  Gregg reminded us that every successful social reform movement in history used shocking images of injustice to force feed facts into minds of the complicit and complacent.

Upon returning to the Ohio, CBR Midwest had the privilege of training some of our Scandinavian counterparts in the art of using alternative mass media (billboards trucks) to affect public opinion on abortion.  Mirko, and Mika are from Finland. Mika is running for Parliament as one of the few pro life candidates.  Ludwig is a Pastor from Norway that was defrocked for preaching against abortion and is now part of the Norwegian church in exile. Mika told us, “I am so encouraged.  CBR has given me hope for my nation that I may be able to make changes to the abortion law.”  They left determined that they can now have the tools to  change hearts in their respective countries.

Standing With Saints In The Fight for Life 

On Friday March 4, 2005 John Vosler, a good friend and volunteer for CBR, was arrested in front of a north Columbus, OH abortion center for "blocking the sidewalk."  The police attempted to move John off of public sidewalk onto the easement (grassy area) in between the road and the sidewalk.   John respectful informed the police that it is lawful to stand on the public sidewalk.  John never blocked pedestrian traffic (of which there is very little).  John was very cooperative and even made room for possible passers by (which there were none).  For this he was arrested. 

John has been faithfully driving a truck for CBR and witnessing at this killing center for over three years.  On March 18, pro lifers from the Central Ohio area joined John at this killing center.  Because the abortion centers are only the symptom of the problem CBR does not fixate on them.  However, as fellow brethren in the fight we must “remember the prisoners as though in prison with them.” CBR stands with John as he undergoes this attempt at intimidation. 

More Minds Changed By CBR’s “Ineffective” Pictures

Many pro life leaders suggest that images of abortion don’t deter woman from having abortion but pictures of developing babies do.  Question:  Did the pictures of live Jewish children at a bar mitzvah or pictures of dead Jews at the death at a camp change the world’s perception of the holocaust?  History and the following testimonies give the evidence.  CBR’s case is indisputable.

In March, CBR will visit University of Georgia, and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  In April, we will reach thousands of students at University of North Carolina, North Carolina State, University of Tennessee, Clemson University, and Western Carolina University.  Dollar for dollar GAP exceeds any pro life project because it answers the quintessential question in the abortion debate:  What is the unborn?  CBR is a lean, mean (in the biblical sense) fighting machine.
